It is only 3 days from when I go to the Niagara Wine Show. I will be interviewing local vintners and tasting all of our local VQA wines that are presented there.

2008 Late Harvest Vidal

375ml
11.5% $9.95 (limited sales now)
Vidal: Varietal, Sugar (8)
VQA
Dull yellow and gold colour and nose aromas of peach, apricots and a citrus that I can't really put a finger on. The taste is a very sweet peach and apricot, with a finish of pineapple and peach, with a long, savory finish that has a bold rich taste.

2008 Buzz and Bubbles
2008 Buzz and Bubbles - 20 Bees
12% $10.75
Vidal Varietal, Sugar (4)
Late harvest
This is a sparkling wine, which has a touch of acidity and sweet bubbly taste. The smell of this wine is a very light orange and other citrus smell. The taste of this wine is amazing, it comes in the pallet as a sweet apple bubbles hit your tounge. This fallows along down your tounge and as it finishes you taste another citrus like an orange or sweet tangereen. All in all this is a tasty sparkling wine which is well worth it and not to high of a price point.

Flourish Riesling Vidal VQA
Flourish Riesling Vidal VQA
13% $10.95
When I picked this up today I had never heard of this kind or producer so I had no idea what to expect. When I got home and cracked it open I was pleasently suprised with it. I am used to having Rieslings that at a high sugar level are undrinkable due to the super strong apple flavors that come out. With this one I found that the finish slowly dampens that into a off dry citrus flavor.
